This large-scale expansion updated the building’s facade, classrooms and expanded the gift shop. A two-story addition to the west side of Powell Hall was finished earlier this year and created additional offices and educational spaces for the Thompson Earth Systems Institute and the museum’s education department. The other permanent exhibits have also been repainted and refreshed with new lighting and updated content.
Last entry to the Butterfly Rainforest and Discovery Zone exhibits will be at 4:30 p.m. Want an early sneak peek at the new and improved Florida Museum? We’ll have a special opening for our members on Sunday, Nov.
